Bite Time New Zealand uses Solunar times to predict fish activity.

The best fishing occurs during major (moon overhead/underfoot) and minor (moonrise/set) periods, especially at dawn, dusk, or tide changes.

Major bite times are extended periods of heightened feeding activity, usually lasting between 1.5 to 3.5 hours. Minor bite times are shorter, typically ranging from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.
